Welcome to Chic Cookies' blog, companion & friend to my store, chiccookiekits.com. You'll find tips, techniques and advice on cookie decorating, whether you are using one of my kits or just covered in flour, confused. (You just might also find other bake-ish, crafty things I find fascinating.)

gift ideas for foodies and bakers and kitchen lovers....
It's a little unusual for me to write up a post that doesn't include a cookie or marshmallow or cupcake or tutorial or at least an idea for something in the realm of crafty, and I'm not giving up all those things, but in the next month or so I'll be slowing things down just a bit. I still have plenty of posts and ideas in store for you, but just not quite everything that was on my to-do list. The month before Christmas--the busiest baking time of the year--is probably the worst month for this slow-down, but alas, sometimes real life intrudes on virtual life and we have to balance both, yes? So whilst I manage some medical realities, I'm going to have some posts like these interspersed with the baking.
I don't believe I've yet mentioned that I'm now creating Ideabooks for Houzz. Have you heard of Houzz yet? It's a virtual bulletin board, similar in concept to Pinterest, that lets you keep collections of ideas for living, home decor and home design, and even more importantly, it lets you search a massive database of ideas and products for your home, too. For example, I, my husband, our daughter and our three cats moved into a fixer-upper here in Washington DC about two years ago. We've done a lot, oh so much, but still (at some point when we can afford it) need to re-do our bathrooms and the basement (and the ceiling fans, and light fixtures and ugh). So jumped on the chance to work with this site. My go-to tab is Ideabooks. They have sections for DIY, furniture, kids, fireplaces... Best you go see. It can be addictive.
But on to this whole gift idea thing. All the stuff I've been tagging is collected in my Ideabooks, and the link is over there in the sidebar to the left. Since it is the season to starting spending, I thought I'd share with you my Ideabook of Gifts for Foodies.

Due to spam ads for viagra and medicine I don't need, I now moderate comments, so it may take up to a day for your comment to appear, depending on how crazy my day is. (I may suspend this during giveaways.)

Goodness! I didn't know there were so many things that I "needed" for Christmas until I saw that page! :)
