Froot Loops pops

I'll give my 3 year old credit. She starts out rather slyly, politely asking for a popsicle for breakfast, complete with "please," a crooked smile and fluttering eye lashes. With each denial the demands become more and more toddleresque, escalating to a foot stomping "I WANT A POPSICLE!"

I compromised with these Froot Loops popsicles. As in, I slid some Froot Loops on a lollipop stick and called them Froot Loops popsicles. Seemed to do the trick, at least for one day. And I know that Froot Loops are laced with sugar, but at least they have some vitamins, unlike the solid corn syrup rocket popsicles my husband bought because I forgot to remind him to at least get the ones made with some real fruit.

you will need:
Froot Loops

lollipop sticks, 4-inch

a gullible child

what to do:
Slide Froot Loops on stick. Call it "popsicle." TIP: I didn't use anything to keep the bottom loop in place, I merely chose one with a smaller hole that fit snugly.

  3. I'm not a fan of Froot Loops, but these are really cute! I would definitely have them as a party treat. They'd be very pretty on a dessert table!

  5. Next time sit her down with a bowl of fruit loops and some kitchen twine. Tie a know in one end and she can make a cereal necklace (just tape up the end she needs to thread through so it doesn't fray). She'll spend 20 minutes making it and then the next half hour eating it one by one. I just did this with my 5 and 2 1/2 yr old girls and they were delighted. Plus, it ended up being a great morning activity on a day we were searching for stuff to do!

  9. Why give a 3-year old Fruit Loops?

  10. Well she also loads up on broccoli, peas, cucumbers, hidden flax seed and squash puree, whole grains, fresh fruit, and organic snacks, so I feel OK with the occasional Froot Loop.
