my dear, poor, sad computer...


...has up and died on me. And the photo here is a likeness of me only in the devastation. I can't load a real photo of me, or a drawing, or a cookie version, because I don't have my computer. Or my scanner, or my photo programs, or anything I need to share sweets with you.

This is a lesson in appreciation. The appreciation I rarely felt simply pressing the "on" button and having the world at my fingertips. It's the same lesson I learn every time the electricity goes out and the light switch does nothing. Of course, these lessons are forgotten quickly after the electricity resumes and my computer is fixed or replaced.

So I ask all to bear with poor, sad me until my computer woes are solved. Hopefully in a matter of days!

    Sorry to hear about your computer. What happened (hard drive or ???)

    Hopefully, you have a good backup!!

    Thanks RG-6! I don't know what happened :( I have an hp entertainment pavilion pc dv9000 and it won't start up (lights are on, the monitor has some light, but is black), and I've had trouble before with Windows failing to start. Apparently these models have problems, so I'm afraid it's kaput.

    Try removing the power cord and removing the battery and then pressing and holding the power button for 20 seconds. Pop the battery back in and plug in the power cord and give it another shot.

    sigh, thanks RG-6, I had done that once before and it worked, but sadly, not this time. My husband says it's a flaw in the hard drive?
