this cookie is movin' on up

After a year of housing angst, we're moving! Tomorrow! And so, I may be absent for just a bit.

Here is the one year housing angst breakdown: July '08, move stuff to storage to prepare to sell house. August '08, put house on market. December '08, get great offer and of course sell house given the crazy economy and of course say being out by Christmas is no big deal at all, January '09, move everything to storage and move in with amazing friends thinking our search will take merely weeks. April '09, four months in and several failed contracts later, opt for furnished temporary housing. July '09, FINALLY close on fixer-upper in DC. August '09, move in despite need for more fixing up.

I can absolutely guarantee that future posts will interpret "the decorated cookie" broadly. "Cookie" will soon refer to all I hold dear, including my new house. In addition to sweet things, I'll also be sure to share with you my neverending decorating projects as I try to create a home on a minimal budget.

So please forgive my absence! I won't have a kitchen for several weeks, but that will only force me to concoct some non-baking-required treats. And I'll of course still post frequently on my edible crafts column HERE, so I'm not going far. Hope to see you all very soon!

Yay for the sweet new cookie home!
